I am so lucky that I got to learn Catch as Catch Can Wrestling straight from a living legend. I have only spent a total of a few days with former Catch as Catch Can Wrestling champion Billy Robinson and it has forever changed my grappling game. Mr. Robinson is a legendary instructor producing such fighters as Kazushi Sakuraba.

I didn’t even realize how much my limited time with Billy had effected my game until Yamasaki pointed it out to me. I was at The Bernales Institute teaching an old Shooto Lock Flow when I realized how my exposure to Catch had connected so many of the dots.

I can say the same for Yamasaki’s game as well. He has been more difficult to deal with then ever before. The Catch training he received from Billy has brought out the best in him.

I just feel so fortunate to have received this opportunity and would like to sincerely thank Billy Robinson and Jake Shannon for making this possible.

If any of you ever get the chance to train with Billy Robinson I would be all over it!
